Why Marathon Meetings Don’t Work should be copied and given to every manager and meeting planner in the world.  Also, funny artwork that makes me giggle (not necessarily the herded cats above, but in the actual article). How many times have I been brought to a marathon meeting from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m.? So many times I can’t even count, and I’m not that important or useful.

And, yes, I’m feeling smug after reading Four Habits of Financially Peaceful People. These are good tips for financial well being and for sleeping at night. At least one involves your career and work.

Holy crap, Ms. T! This is brilliant! I’ve had so many marathon meetings as an architect that I’ve lost count. I’ve been stuck in a conference room for five hours–starting at a brutal 7am–with all my engineers and contractors and consultants, trying to hash out details large and small. Talk about exhausting!

And the stuff on executive function FINALLY explains to me why I’m so worn out after a two- or three-hour meeting–there’s really a name for all that focusing I’m having to do, and I don’t feel so guilty about being tired after it. It’s perfectly natural. Man, I can always count on you to link me to some good articles.
