The Results of Years of Cuts in Arts Education Funding

It’s hard to say what’s my favorite part of this video: the disembodied bouncing McCain head? or when the lead singer washes her face with McCain?

It’s enough to make me think quadrupling the amount of funding for arts education in the public schools would not be enough.

Good grief! Is this a real promotional video or a spoof? I agree about the need for arts funding!

I hope it’s a spoof, but I fear it may not be.

I’m interested in the backstory here. How three very different women connected through their support of John McCain. Or at least made enough of a connection with each other to feel comfortable with making a video. One of the ladies cannot sing. The video itself is awful but the story about the connection could be interesting.

I can make up a story if you like. They all work together, went out to lunch and had some margaritas, had some spare time that afternoon, wrote the lyrics in between emails, decided to only rehearse once, didn’t understand the whole idea of the green shirt-green screen problem….

Oh, my. That was an uncomfortable 2:34 minutes. Ouch! But, like Toonhead, I’d love to know the backstory.

Well, I want to thank the lead woman in the video for single-handedly destroying the stereotype that all black people can sing. Maybe now people at church will stop approaching me and saying, “Oh, aren’t you in the choir?”
