Ms T, you make a good point about texting vs emailing. As I move up in the ranks, a Gen X'er infiltrating the ranks of older Gen X'ers and Baby Boomers, I find that direct phone calls or visits to a desk are sometimes the best way to deal with people. Funny, most people regardless of generation, but especially the younger generations, have problems with confrontation. If you can confront without being confrontational, you've mastered an immeasurable skill.

I find that I take advantages of technology like Gen Y, but most of the rest is Gen X, except for what motivates and rewards me, which is kind of a Gen Y/Baby Boomer mishmash.

Interesting.

I may have to make my own chart because I want to delete that communications row to contrast Gen Y (text messages) with Gen X (email).

In some ways, I find the greatest contrasts for me are with the generation ahead and behind.

A fascinating chart.

I find myself kind of a mishmash. I have some traits inherited from my baby boomer parents, a few inherited from my Veteran grandparents, their parents, but I am very much of my era in many respects. Although I am kind of on the end of the Gen X spectrum and kind of straddle the gap between X and Y.

My youngest sister is very much a child of Gen Y.
