They seem to be growing in popularity, and are used often in China for small Christian meetings, but also quite popular here. UUs tend to have these as <a href="http://www.uuworld.org/2002/06/feature3.html" rel="nofollow">fellowships</a>, but it's not exactly the same thing in my mind.
