Ahnu, which sport outdoors-y Keen like (but without running as wide in the toe box) is made in China, but was awarded the SA8000 accreditation in 2007, so there is a organization (Social Accountability Accreditation Services) that sets labor/quality standards for overseas facilities to follow. Sanita still makes their clogs (who actually used to make the soles for Dansko, which is now in China) in Poland, Ukraine & Denmark.... I realize this is a year old…

I’m not sure how well they meet your under $50 criteria. Pangea’s No Bull brand makes long lasting, breathable shoe in a dress style I need for work. It purchases nothing from China.
