[...] Posted by Elizabeth on November 28, 2007 I’ve been intending to write about The Secret for a while and Fred Small’s recent UU World article “Psst: ‘The Secret’ isn’t total bunk,”(adapted form a sermon) inspired me to sit down and get to it.
I think we'd agree that the job ad is much more subjective in terms of who you are than actually what you can do or what skills you bring to the table.

I guess when I read that part, I don't interpret it to mean "please believe that you are changing the universe with your thoughts" - although that WOULD be ludicrous. I assume they mean something along the lines of "you are optimistic and open to opportunity." But that's probably because that's what I took away from the movie. (There were parts I waved a dismissive hand to).

I can't imagine going to a job interview and being asked what my signs are. I think I wouldn't even want to work for such a person! Not that I'm against people who like astrology, but to actually use it as a basis for making decisions - about another person? Eek!

You think the astrology is funnier than the Secret? When I lived in Santa Fe, it was not unusual for people to ask.

The most funniest part is under the cut! LOL. I just wonder why they want that information - I mean, what information is that going to give them that they don't trust themselves to ask or be able to figure out during the interview? Gives a whole new meaning to "spirituality in the workplace." Eek.
