A while back, Kristie asked for recommendations on where to shop. While reading The Vegetarian Times, I came across a site that can help Idealswork, which rates companies on the conditions you select (animal-welfare, gay-lesbian issues, women’s issues, nuclear energy, etc).
Thanks Stephanie!

That Idealswork was scary. I was so nervous every brand I buy was going to show up on their naughty list.
One interesting thing, Idealswork gave BabyGap five out of five suns.
Comment by K Cutter 12.16.05 @ 4:00 amThe gap is a funny story in that they do some really good things (like they buy more organic cotton than anyone else), but they also do some really bad things (like have lots of human rights violations.
Comment by Stephanie 12.16.05 @ 9:25 amSeemed to be that way with most of the five-sun companies.
Comment by K Cutter 12.16.05 @ 2:12 pmYeah, Nordstroms keeps coming up as the best place (if I select all criteria as important) to buy women’s and men’s clothes, which is fascinating. Ahem, if I could afford to shop at Nordstrom’s, it would be even more fascinating.
